Design
Lily of the Valley sets sprigs of white blossom inside a grid of rounded medallions, framed by a scrolling ivory border. The flowers are drawn with fine green leaves and small trailing stems, and the surrounding scrollwork gives the square a formal, almost architectural structure. The design comes in two grounds: a deep midnight black that makes the white blossom stand out sharply, and a soft butter yellow that reads lighter and warmer.
Craft
The scarf is made from 100% Mulberry Silk in crepe de chine. The crepe surface has a fine matte grain and a quiet lustre, which keeps the printed detail crisp and gives the square a soft, fluid drape.
The finished size is 65 x 65 cm. The edge is finished with a machine-applied picot lace trim in a matching tone, a detail that frames the border pattern. Please allow for slight size measure variations in finished silk pieces.
How to Wear It
A 65 cm square is the most flexible size to style, and the scrolling border stays visible in almost every fold.
- Fold it on the diagonal and knot it at the neck so the border frames the face.
- Roll it into a narrow band and tie it as a collar detail over a shirt.
- Open it across the shoulders of a light knit for a soft cover.
- Loop it around a bag handle as a floral silk accent.
Care
Handle Mulberry Silk gently, and keep it away from jewellery, rough surfaces, and perfume. Hand wash below 30 degrees with a mild detergent, dry in the shade, and press on a low setting from the reverse. For washing and storage, follow our Silk Care Guide.
