In Chinese legend, a great osmanthus tree grows in the Moon Palace — 月宫桂树 — tended by the immortals and forever in bloom. The osmanthus has also long been associated with nobility, scholarly achievement, and the quiet beauty of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Here, delicate branches carry clusters of small amber blossoms and soft sage leaves across a cream ground.The composition is botanical and unhurried. Branches reach lightly across the cloth, so the design breathes rather than crowds. The cream and amber palette is among the most quietly sophisticated in the series — warm without being bold, and refined without being plain. The result is a shawl that suits any occasion and any wardrobe with equal ease.

Plain crepe satin — 素绉缎 — combines a satin face with a crepe structure. The result is a surface that is smooth and luminous without being stiff or heavy. The drape is fluid and the handle is exceptionally soft against the skin.The jacquard weave constructs the osmanthus motifs within the fabric itself during weaving. This is distinct from printed silk, where designs are applied after the cloth is made. The woven motifs, in turn, catch the light differently from the ground fabric — creating a subtle tonal relief that shifts as the shawl moves.At 14 momme, this shawl is also lightweight enough for year-round wear. It breathes well in spring and summer, while offering a gentle layer of warmth in cooler months.
