Song Brocade
Song brocade — 宋锦 — is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage silk weave originating in the Song dynasty. Unlike printed silk, the design is structural: woven into the cloth so that pattern and ground are inseparable. The result is a fabric of depth, relief, and considerable presence — the design catches light differently as the cloth moves. At Herbert Accessory, Song brocade shawls are woven in Hangzhou at 40 momme and finished with hand-wound gold thread edges. Each piece arrives in luxury gift packaging.
